🏭 LNGTerminals
Technip Energies was appointed by ETYFA 🤝 to complete the LNG import Terminal Project in Vassilikos, Cyprus 🏗.
The import terminal is part of an EU project of common interest that seeks to introduce natural gas to Cyprus 💭 with the goal of reducing its dependence on imported oil and facilitating its transition to cleaner energy services.

🚢 LNGShips
The 138,160-cbm 👉 Iberica Knutsen (built 2006), owned by Knutsen OAS, grounded off the island of Rugen (German coast) near the entrance to the port of Mukran on the Baltic Sea on Thursday 📌
The ship has now been transported to the Sassnitz roadstead with the help of several tugs 🚢.
There has been no loss of cargo or environmental damage ✔.

Almost 60 LNG carriers were idling at the end of March and others were quietly being offered for sale 💵.
More vessels, both steamships and tri-fuel diesel-electric vessels, are being put into lay-up, and it will be costly and time-consuming to bring them back into trading conditions 🚨.

Three LNG carriers chartered to Russian interests by Japanese shipowner Mitsui OSK Lines have been sanctioned by the European Union 🚨.
The ships have been blacklisted in the EU’s latest package of measures ⚫ designed to put pressure on Russian energy revenues.
The 174,000-cbm ice-strengthened 1️⃣ North Moon, 2️⃣ North Light and 3️⃣ North Ocean (all built 2024) were included in the 17th package of sanctions adopted by the European Council on Tuesday 🔴.

Two South Korean LNG shipowners are sending four 4️⃣ elderly steam turbine vessels for demolition in separate en-bloc deals, bumping the number of LNG carriers scrapped this year to seven 7️⃣.
Two ships controlled by Hyundai LNG Shipping, which were circulated for sale last week, have been sold for more than 💰38m.
The sale priced the 135,000-cbm Hyundai Aquapia (built 2000) and Hyundai Technopia (built 1999) at about 💰565 per ldt each, equating to a per-ship price on the 34,000-ldt vessels of around 💰19.2m.

Awilco LNG has seen idle periods for one of its two tri-fuel diesel-electric (TFDE) LNG carriers during the quarter in challenging charter market conditions 🚨.
The company said its 156,000-cbm LNG carrier 👉 WilForce (built 2013) traded in an exceptionally weak market with lengthy idle periods during the first three months of the year.

🏗 LNGShipbuilding
Adnoc L&S has taken delivery of the second 175,000-cbm LNG carrier 👉 Al Rahba from China’s Jiangnan Shipyard 🏗.
Al Rahba is the second of six 6️⃣ LNG carriers Adnoc L&S ordered during 2022 from Jiangnan. The entire order is worth more than 💰1.2 billion.
Adnoc L&S expects to take delivery of the remaining vessels in 2025 and 2026 🎊.
These “LNG Jumbo” dual-fuel carriers feature GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane system 🏢 and a partial reliquefaction system 💧.

Nakilat has revealed a steel-cutting ceremony for 1️⃣7️⃣ new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, which was hosted at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard in South Korea 🏗.
Following the first round of long-term time charter party (TCP) agreements signed in April and August 2022, the second phase of the Qatari heavyweight’s LNG fleet expansion program was set in motion with a 💰3.9 billion construction contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries in September 2023 for 17 of the 25 LNG vessels.

One of China’s top shipyards, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, has commissioned a giant new facility to boost its production of LNG carriers 🚀.
The new $2.5bn, 432 ha yard on Changxing Island north of Shanghai will boost the state-run company’s annual LNG carrier output 📈 from six to 10 vessels once fully operational.

Ibaizabal is being named as the company behind a pair of LNG bunker vessel newbuildings 2️⃣ contracted in South Korea, against contracts with energy major Shell 🤝.
The shipbuilder’s holding group company, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, said on Friday that it has recently signed a contract to build two 18,000-cbm 💧 LNGBVs with a shipping company based in Europe.

POSCO Group has introduced its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier 🥇, marking a significant milestone for its expansion into the energy business
POSCO International held a naming ceremony on Saturday for the 👉 HL Fortuna — the group's first independently secured LNG carrier — at HD Hyundai Samho's shipyard in Mokpo 🎊.
The HL Fortuna measures 299 meters in length and 46.4 meters in width, with a storage capacity of 174,000 cubic meters 💧. It is optimized for transporting North American LNG.

LNG shipowner Cool Company is targeting term business 🎯 of the second of its two newbuildings but said it is a “competitive market” at present 🔴.
This is reference to Capital Clean Energy Carriers’ fixtures this month of two 2027-delivering newbuildings on five 5️⃣ and seven 7️⃣ year charters from their deliveries.
The ships were fixed to TotalEnergies at rates of $86,000 to $87,000 per day.
