🏭 LNGTerminals

The Maritime Administration (MARAD) and U.S. Coast Guard have received an application 📘 from ST LNG, LLC to build and operate a significant liquefied natural gas export facility 🏗approximately 10.4 nautical miles offshore Matagorda, Texas 📍.

The proposed deepwater port would consist of both fixed and floating components 🚢, including multiple platforms, mooring dolphins, and converted LNG carriers. When fully operational, the facility would be capable of exporting up to 8.4 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG 💧.

Russia's exports of liquefied natural gas in the first half of the year declined 📉 by 4.4% from a year earlier to 15.2 million metric tons 💧.

The United States has imposed sanctions on companies and vessels linked to Russia's new Arctic LNG 2 plant 🚨 because of the conflict in Ukraine, effectively freezing the project because of the difficulty for Moscow in finding buyers 🔴.

Russia is sending a second Arc7 LNG carrier through the Northern Sea Route (NSR) 🌏 as the first ship of the summer sea that preceded her emerges from the Arctic passage and heads to Asia 🎯.

Hyundai LNG Shipping is circulating for sale a 25-year-old 💵, steam turbine-driven LNG carrier as more ageing vessels hit the market 📈.

Offers have been invited on the The Moss-type LNG steamship 135,000-cbm 👉 Hyundai Cosmopia (built 2000). Bids are due by 10 July.

One of the few available floating storage and regasification units in the market has been taken on charter by Egypt 🤝, giving it the use of a fifth 5️⃣ FSRU, but based in Jordan, from where it will supply gas to countries in the region 💭.

The 174,000-cbm Energos Force (ex-Transgas Force, built 2021), which is on charter to German state operator Deutsche Energy Terminal (DET), is due to be installed in the Jordanian Red Sea port of Aqaba 🏗.

🏗 LNGShipbuilding

GTT received an order from HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) 🤝 for the design of the cryogenic tanks of six 6️⃣ new LNG-fueled container ships, on behalf of the ship-owner Capital.

Each vessel will be equipped with a tank offering a capacity of 8,000 m³ 💧, incorporating GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system 🏢.

These tanks will also feature the “1 barg” design, allowing an operational pressure of up to 1 barg 📈, significantly higher than the current industry standard of 0.7 barg.

Kinetics, the LNG shipping arm of Turkish floating energy producer Karpowership, has contracted with 🤝 Singaporean shipyard group Seatrium to convert yet another LNG carrier into a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) 🏗.

LNGT Turkiye project is the seventh 7️⃣ that Singapore shipyard behemoth has received from Kinetics.

Equinor has been making enquiries with shipyards 🤝 for up to four LNG carrier newbuildings, which the company needs to replace older tonnage and to support its growing LNG portfolio 📈.

The Norwegian company is seeking offers on two 2️⃣ firm ships and options on a further two 2️⃣ vessels.

Samsung Heavy Industries has officially logged a 💰637m contract for early works on a second floating LNG production unit for Eni off Mozambique📍.

Samsung Heavy Industries will be responsible for constructing an LNG floating production platform 🏗, with the final phase of the agreement to be formalized at a later date.

Eni had obtained official government authorization 🤝 for the Development Plan of the 👉 Coral North FLNG project.

Naftogaz Group and Orlen have signed a deal 🤝 to enable Ukraine to receive an additional 140 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) 💧 from the United States.

The new contract, which marks the fourth 4️⃣ gas supply deal the duo inked in 2025, is part of preparations for the upcoming heating season. Naftogaz has secured 440 million cubic meters of LNG 💧 from the Polish player.

Delfin Midstream has tasked three players 🤝 – Siemens Energy, Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), and Black & Veatch (B&V) – with handling assignments on its American LNG project, which is under development in Louisiana and offshore in the U.S. Gulf 🏗.

Delfin Midstream not only struck a deal with Siemens Energy to reserve manufacturing capacity for four SGT-750 gas turbine mechanical drive packages 🚀 but also agreed to an early works program with Samsung Heavy Industries and Black & Veatch.

The duo will enable it to further detail floating LNG (FLNG) vessel design specifications 🚢 as the basis for the lump-sum turn-key engineering, procurement, construction, and integration (EPCI) contract and to prepare both contractors for the execution of the project.

Australia’s oil and gas player Santos has signed 🤝 a liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with QatarEnergy.

The contract entails the delivery of around 0.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG 💧 over two years from 2026. The volumes will be supplied from Santos’ portfolio on a delivered ex-ship basis 🚢.

Axpo Solutions AG has successfully completed the first ever LNG Ship-to-Ship (StS) 🥇 bunkering operation in the Port of Sines (Portugal) 🏗.

Karmol Antarctica successfully completed its first LNG discharge operation 🥇 to Shell’s LNG bunkering vessel, FueLNG Venosa, in Singapore 📍.

Karpowership is working to develop new LNG bunkering hubs 💧, broadening access to flexible and cleaner energy solutions across key maritime regions ⚡.

🔥 LNGAsFuel

MSC is set to invest over 💰1.2 billion in fleet expansion with a new order for up to six 6️⃣ LNG dual-fuel containerships at a Chinese shipyard.

MSC has recently contracted CMHI Haimen, a shipyard under China Merchants Industry Group (CMI), for three firm and three optional 22,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel 🔥 containerships.

The price for each unit is estimated between 💰206 million and 💰210 million, i.e., more than $1.2 billion in total if all options are exercised. The newbuilds are slated for delivery in 2027 🎊.

Two years on from its launch, the cargo vessel 👉 Canopée has provided robust evidence that wind-assisted propulsion can deliver real-world fuel and emissions savings for commercial shipping 📈.

The vessel, equipped with four automated OceanWings 🌪, is reporting average daily fuel savings of 5.2 tonnes 📉 – equivalent to 20.8 tonnes of CO2 – under routine operating conditions.
