🎓 LNGKnowledge

The LNG ship discharging operation 📉 commences well before going along side the terminal, even before Pilot On Board for berthing .

Ship's cargo lines are cooled to the lowest possible temperature before arrival at the terminal so that cargo operations can begin as soon as the ship is moored and all procedures have been completed of required 🎯.

To run a line cool-down , one spray pump is used to pump the LNG from cargo tanks to the 👉 spray line and the main header.

If possible, this should be done during daylight 🔵, especially after a long sea passage and a careful watch kept for leakage at flanges .

🔴 Important:

  • Return of cool-down liquid to the bottom of the cargo tank through the loading line can cause a local temperature increase 📈 at the appropriate tank bottom sensor.

  • Allow sufficient time for this to stabilise 🎯 before the post discharge gauging.
