Excelerate Energy will upgrade one of its 11-year-old floating storage and regasification units in Brazil 🏗 with a reliquefaction kit to cut cargo boil-off and emissions 💭.

The company signed an agreement with the unit’s charterer Petrobras 🤝 to install a reliquefaction unit on its 173,400-cbm FSRU Experience (built 2014), which is currently located in Guanabara Bay, Brazil 📍.

Klaipėda LNG terminal in Lithuania is set to become one of the first facilities in Europe 🥇 to introduce a virtual biomethane liquefaction service 💧.

The new service will enable biomethane producers and suppliers to efficiently connect their operations to the LNG logistics system 🎯.

It will also help monetise biomethane produced in Lithuania and other parts of Europe 💵 by facilitating its injection into the shared European gas grid 💭.

A South Korean-controlled LNG carrier has been sold for demolition 🏗 bringing the total sent for scrap within the first seven months of 2025 to eight 8️⃣ vessels which is equal to the total number that were handed over to the ship recyclers in the full 12-month period of last year.

Hyundai LNG Shipping’s 135,000-cbm steam turbine-driven 👉 Hyundai Cosmopia (built 2000) was sold for an “unexpectedly high price” of 💰580 per ldt on an “as is” basis in Indonesia 📍.

GTT announced the signing of a Joint Development Project with seven major players 🤝 in the maritime industry to design a next-generation LNG carrier 📊.

With a total cargo capacity of 200,000 m³ for liquefied natural gas (LNG) transportation 💧, the vessel will incorporate three cargo tanks 3️⃣ and will be designed to operate at reduced speed 📉.

This operational approach allows for a significant reduction in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions per unit of cargo transported 📉, while improving overall energy efficiency 💡.

A new construction milestone has been achieved for Excelerate Energy new build FSRU, Hull 3407 🎊, from the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in South Korea 🏗.

The hull launch marks the first time a vessel is floated 🚢, enabling it to transition from dry dock to the sea. This step brings the firm one step closer to the FSRU’s expected delivery in 2026 🎊.

The company describes Hull 3407 as a best-in-class FSRU, capable of delivering 1 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day 💭, with a 170,000 cbm storage capacity 💧, dual-fuel diesel-electric engines, and advanced emissions-reduction systems 🏭.

Woodside Energy has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hyundai Engineering and Hyundai Glovis 🤝 to collaborate across the liquefied natural gas (LNG) value chain 💧.

In line with the MOU’s strategic framework, the duo will partner on LNG project development, engineering services, and shipping logistics 🏗. They plan to do this by focusing on execution capability and extending their reach into what Woodside says are priority LNG markets 📊

Monadelphous has landed a new assignment on a natural gas field development off the coast of Western Australia 🏗 and a contract extension for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Queensland located in northeastern Australia. 🏗.

While disclosing the award of new contracts in the energy sector, worth more than 💰100 million, Monadelphous revealed that the first deal was secured with 1️⃣ Technip Energies for the provision of multidisciplinary services associated with the hook-up and commissioning of Shell’s Crux platform in Western Australia.

In the meantime, Inteforge, Monadelphous’ fabrication services business, has landed a two-year extension of its master goods agreement with 2️⃣ Origin Energy to continue supplying wellsite equipment for Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) in Queensland.

ADNOC Gas Enters Into Three-Year LNG Supply Agreement with Germany’s SEFE 🤝 to supply of 0.7 million tonnes of LNG commencing this year 💧.

SEFE has finalized an agreement with Venture Global 🤝 to purchase an additional quantity of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from a project the latter is developing in Louisiana, United States 🏗.

Under the deal, the German player’s affiliate SEFE Energy will buy an additional 0.75 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG 💧 from CP2 LNG for 20 years.

Italian shipowner Fratelli Cosulich and Dutch bunker supplier Titan Clean Fuels are locked in a legal dispute 🏢 over the charter of an LNG bunker vessel 🚢.

The 8,471-cbm Alice Cosulich (built 2023) has been offered out for charter by a broker despite the ship being on long-term hire with Titan ❗❗.

The LNG London, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessel chartered by Shell 🚢, owned by LNG Shipping, and operated by Victrol recently completed over 1,000 safe LNG bunkering operations 🎊 across the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp.

Launched in June 2019, LNG London has a capacity of 3,000 m³ 💧, spans 110 m in length, and navigates inland waterways with ease—facilitating efficient LNG supply to both seagoing vessels and barges offshore-energy 🏗.

An LNG bunker vessel on charter to Monjasa is being relocated to Europe 🌍 and marketed as open for business after the company called an early halt to its operations in the Middle East 📊.

The 5,100-cbm Green Zeebrugge (built 2017) is heading south towards the Cape of Good Hope. Her estimated time of arrival in Europe was given as 18 August 📅.

Relocation costs are likely to stack up at about 💰1.5m. The charter rate on the ship was likely to be around 💰20,000 per day.

Royal Caribbean has taken delivery of an LNG-fueled Icon-class newbuild 👉 Star of the Seas from Finnish shipbuilder Meyer Turku 🎊.

This is company’s third ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) 🔥. The 365-meter-long newbuild also features waste heat recovery systems and shore power connection ⚡.

Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) has delivered a new LPG-powered LPG/ammonia carrier with an increased cargo capacity 💧.

The newbuild named Crystal Odyssey boasts a cargo capacity of 86,700 cubic meters (cbm) 💧 and ammonia loading capability while keeping its principal dimensions, like length (229.9 meters), similar to conventional-type vessels 🚢, so she can be berthed at major LPG terminals around the world 🌍.
