🎓 LNGKnowledge
The Cargo containment (Barriers and insulation) of an LNG ship membrane type is welded/fitted sheet to sheet and piece by piece 🎯 inside the tank's hull during ship building.
For Moss type , the cargo tank is built separately 🎯 and then fitted into the ship's hull.

Russia will need additional tonnage if it is to maintain its current export volumes from the country’s Yamal LNG plant 🏭 once a European ban on imports from the country comes into effect.
Europe remains the dominant export destination for Yamal LNG cargoes 🥇 in the first quarter of 2026.
Yamal LNG looks set to be looking at longer voyage for its exports from 2027 🌎.

Sohar LNG is the first LNG ship to safely transit the Hormuz strait since February 28th.
Sohar LNG is an Omani ship, which has been inside the Persian gulf in ballast condition for the past month.
Sohar LNG did not take the northern route as per the latest transits where the ships had to transit close to Iranian coast.

Nearly 50 empty Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers are idling across Asia 🌏, as the nation’s export plant remains shut and the Strait of Hormuz largely closed because of the war in the Middle East.
The tankers are in ballast condition and gathered in several locations, including West India, off the coast of Sri Lanka, the northern entrance to the Strait of Malacca, and the waters east of Singapore 📍.
Qatar was forced to shut production at the world’s largest LNG export plant following an Iranian drone attack in early-March ❌, upending the global market and leaving its vast fleet of tankers without orders. Parts of the facility at Ras Laffan were damaged following another attack later in March.

The Qatari LNG Ships Al Daayen and Rasheeda, which were moving eastward to transit the strait of Hormuz, Both vessels aborted transiting and turned back ❌.
The Al Daayen and Rasheeda, which each loaded LNG from Qatar’s export plant in late-February, were moving eastward toward the opening of the strait near Oman 🚨. The vessels had been idling in the Gulf as the war escalated and Hormuz remained largely closed to shipping.
The Al Daayen is signaling China Qatar’s largest LNG buyer 📍and Rasheeda is signaling “For orders”. Still, destinations are not final and vessels may change their indicated port of call at any time.
As per both vessels heading, their projected route was to pass thru the northern area near the Iranian coast and were not taking the usual navigation route thru the Traffic Separation Scheme.

Novatek, Russia’s largest producer of liquefied natural gas, has established a subsidiary, Severny Engineering 🏗, to build its own vessels and floating facilities.
This decision was driven by an acute shortage of ice-class tankers 📉 that arose after the introduction of Western sanctions in 2022.
Currently, the main supplier of such vessels is the Zvezda shipyard, but its capacity is insufficient to meet the needs of the Arctic LNG-2 project 🚢.

🤝 LNGContracts
International Resources Holding (IRH) has struck a multi-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply deal with 🤝 Amigo LNG which is developing an LNG export terminal in Guaymas, Sonora, on Mexico’s West Coast 📍.
IRH will buy 1 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG for 20 years 💧 from the Amigo LNG export project in Guaymas, with deliveries expected to begin when the project’s liquefaction train enters commercial operations in the second half of 2028 📅.
Drydocks World has been awarded a landmark Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract by AMIGO LNG for the world’s largest Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) liquefaction facility 🚢.

💧 LNGBunkering
Anew Climate and Avenir have performed Europe’s first joint liquefied biomethane (bio-LNG) bunkering operation 🥇.
During the operation performed at the LNG terminal in the Port of Klaipėda, Lithuania, operated by KN Energies, Anew supplied certified waste-based bio-LNG 💧 to Avenir’s 2022-built Avenir Ascension vessel, which transported the product to Sweden for use by vessels operated by Swedish ferry operator Destination Gotland 📍.

🔥 LNGAsFuel
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K LINE) announced that it has signed an agreement 🤝 to facilitate the long-term procurement of carbon-neutral bio-LNG fuel, also known as liquefied bio methane or LBM, and it has started to use this fuel for LNG-fuelled car carriers.
It is expected that this procurement agreement will enable K LINE to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by around 60,800 tonnes per year 💭.
Bio-LNG fuel is an alternative to liquefied natural gas (LNG) 💧 that is produced from livestock excrement, food residue and other organic waste.

March proved a “slow” month for the ordering of newbuildings that can use alternative fuels 📉.
Just five vessels that can burn other fuels apart from fuel oil were contracted last month: two 2️⃣ LNG dual-fuel car carriers; two 2️⃣ LPG carriers that can use LPG; and one 1️⃣ methanol dual-fuel platform supply vessel.
The first quarter also showed a slowdown in ordering for the second year running 📉.

Libya has resumed salvage operations on the stricken Russian LNG carrier Arctic Metagaz 📈, deploying naval assets and divers as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) confirmed it is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with regional partners 🌍.
Libyan authorities said a naval patrol vessel and a specialized team of divers have been dispatched to assess and re-secure the Arctic Metagaz 🚢, which was drifting around 70 nautical miles northwest of Benghazi following last week’s failed salvage attempt.
