🎓 LNGKnowledge
Each LNG ship cargo tank is provided with equipment indicating 👉 Level, Pressure and Temperature of the cargo.
🎯 Pressure & Temperature:
Pressure gauges and temperature indicating devices are installed in the liquid and vapour piping systems, in cargo refrigerating installations and in the Inert gas system 🏭.
🎯 Level:
Each cargo tank is fitted with at least two 2️⃣ independent liquid level gauging devices. However, the IGC Code makes provision for a single system provided it is capable of external maintenance.
In addition, each cargo tank is fitted with High Level Alarm 🚨 operating independently of other Liquid Levels.
The illustration shows the temperature sensors and the level indicators inside an LNG membrane cargo tank.

🚢 The Arctic Metagaz is still afloat… and refuses to sink.
Despite the major incident, the severe hull damage, and cargo tank openings, the vessel has remarkably remained afloat.
For those who work in the LNG industry, this is another powerful reminder of how robust LNG carrier design really is. Even after significant structural damage, the ship’s overall integrity and buoyancy are still holding.
These vessels are engineered with multiple safety layers and strong structural redundancy, and what we are seeing here is a real-world demonstration of that engineering.
