🏭 LNGTerminals

Mozambique’s Government has granted a 30-year concession 🤝 for the construction and operation of natural gas infrastructure at the Port of Beira and Inhassoro, awarding the rights to a consortium of state-owned companies 🏢.

The exclusive rights were granted for building, financing, importing and operating the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal 💧, storage units, and the 865km ROMPCO pipeline that connects Mozambique’s gas fields to South Africa.

Golar LNG has concluded a 💰1.2bn refinancing for its floating LNG production unit Gimi, which is on long-term charter to 🤝 BP off the coast of Mauritania and Senegal.

Golar LNG has closed and drawn a new $1.2bn asset-backed debt facility agreement with a consortium of banks for refinancing of the 2.7-mtpa unit 🚢.

TotalEnergies is taking a floating storage and regasification unit, which it installed in France three years ago, out of service there .

The floating LNG terminal in Le Havre — the 145,000-cbm Cape Ann (built 2010) — is no longer necessary 🚫.

It cited the unit’s lack of use, the FSRU must leave Le Havre, as it had not been used for more than a year 📅.

QatarEnergy will have almost 200 LNG cargoes to trade in the market 💧 once its volumes from US project Golden Pass LNG ramp up in the next couple of years.

The Golden Pass volumes will give Qatar diversity of supply over its home-produced LNG 🌏 and the ability to sell at different prices.

QatarEnergy, which controls 70% of Golden Pass, will be paying the same gas price 💵 as others in the US.

Ireland has selected a location to site a floating storage and regasification unit 🚢 as it moves to provide additional security to its existing pipeline gas supplies.

Gas Networks Ireland said Cahiracon, in County Clare, along the Shannon Estuary 📍, will be the site for the state-led new Strategic Gas Emergency Reserve (SGER) project.

The site will be developed to include a deep-water jetty for an FSRU, an onshore facility and a new connection to the national gas network 🏭.

The FSRU, which it said will typically hold up to 170,000-cbm of LNG 🚢, will be owned and operated on behalf of the state by Gas Networks.

National Grid completed the sale of its Grain LNG business 🤝 to a consortium comprising Centrica and Energy Capital Partners, which is part of Bridgepoint Group.

The transaction involves the Grain Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal, though financial details of the deal were not disclosed 🚫 in the company’s statement.

Grain LNG operates one of the UK’s key energy infrastructure assets, capable of receiving, storing and regasifying liquefied natural gas 💧 for the British market.

Türkiye's liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure can meet nearly half of the country’s total natural gas demand 💭.

Türkiye’s LNG capacity is sufficient to supply the equivalent of household demand 🔥, even during the coldest winter days when consumption peaks.

Türkiye currently operates five LNG facilities, including two land-based terminals 🏭 and three Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs) 🚢.

🚢 LNGShips

Italian energy company Eni is trawling through offers on LNG carrier newbuildings 🎯 to take on time charter for periods of up to 15 years, as competitor Edison homes in on the vessels it is seeking.

Brokers said offers have gone in to Eni following its tender for LNG tonnage 🚢.

Initially, Eni was in the market for a single vessel, according to reports last month, but it later withdrew before reappearing with its latest enquiry 📊.

GasLog welcomed a new 174,000 m³ LNG carrier to its fleet— Woodside Barrumbara built at South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean.

This vessel is chartered by Woodside to support the start-up of its $12.5 billion Scarborough energy project.

Seapeak has sold a steam turbine-driven LNG carrier for demolition 🏗, bringing the total sent for scrap in this sector to 15 vessels this year.

The 138,423-cbm Seapeak Asia (ex-Seapeak Catalunya, built 2003) 🚢 has been sold for recycling in Bangladesh.

They quoted a price of $420 per ldt on the 29,686-ldt vessel, which would indicate a sales level of 💰12.5m.

🏗 LNGShipbuilding

South Korean shipowner Hyundai Glovis has signed a long-term charter deal 🤝 with Japanese trader Itochu that will back a single LNG carrier newbuilding.

Hyundai Glovis had inked a time charter covering a period of up to 15 years worth around 💰396.7m. But it did not name the counterparty, simply describing them as a global trading company.

Wärtsilä Gas Solutions will supply a range of solutions for a new LNG Bunkering Vessel 🚢 built at the Jiangnan Shipyard in China for Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) Energy Shanghai Co.

The scope includes the cargo handling system, the fuel gas supply system, and a boil-off gas reliquefication system (Compact Reliq - CRS) 🏭.

The Wärtsilä equipment is scheduled for delivery to the yard during 2026, and the ship is expected to be commissioned in summer 2027 🎊.

Knutsen Group welcomed HN 3383 – AL ZORE, a 174,000 m³ LNG carrier built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries 🎊

AL ZORE is the fourth newbuild in a series of ten vessels chartered to QatarEnergy 🤝 and the 19th for KOAS' French fleet .

After completing her final preparations, she will set sail from the shipyard, embark on her maiden voyage, and head to Ras Laffan Terminal for her first loading 💧.

Russia’s first domestically constructed LNG Carrier Aleksey Kosygin 🚢 is undergoing its fourth round of sea trials in the Far East as Moscow races to ready the vessel for the upcoming winter navigation season along the Northern Sea Route (NSR) 🌏.

Much of the ship’s hull was constructed by South Korean firm Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) before final assembly and buildout began at the Zvezda yard near Vladivostok 🏗. For much of the four years since the facility has struggled to finalize or replace sanctioned western technology 🔴 with available alternatives. 

The latest round of sea trials began last week with the vessel again departing from the Zvezda yard traveling up and down the coastal water near Nakhodka Bay at speeds up to 19 knots 🚢.

Venture Global and Tokyo Gas announce new LNG Sales and Purchase Agreement 🤝, where Tokyo Gas will procure 1 MTPA of LNG from Venture Global for 20 years 💧.

The deal marks Venture Global’s fourth long-term contract with a Japanese company, and 7.75 MTPA of long-term contracts signed 📘 by Venture Global to date in 2025.

South Korea’s largest LNG shipowner is heading for new ownership as private equity firm IMM is readying to sell Hyundai LNG Shipping 🤝 to Indonesia’s Sinar Mas Group in a deal valued at around 💰274m.

The IMM consortium, which controls 100% of the company, is set to sign a stock purchase agreement 🤝, though the process remains open to competing bidders.

The company owns 1️⃣2️⃣ LNG carriers and six LPG vessels, making it central to the country’s gas supply chain.

Centrica Energy has announced the signing of a long-term Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) 🤝 to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Exodus for Honduras, marking a new milestone in the country’s energy development. 

Under the terms of the agreement, Centrica will deliver approximately six 6️⃣ LNG cargoes per year to Exodus through a ship-to-ship operation into the Floating Storage Unit (FSU) Bilbao Knutsen 🚢, located in Puerto Cortes. The 15-year contract is expected to commence in 2026.

💧 LNGBunkering

Authorities in Egypt have come together to advance a project to build a liquefaction plant and LNG bunkering facility 💧 in Port Said at the northern entrance to the Suez Canal.

Egypt’s minister of petroleum and mineral resources, Karim Badawi, and Suez Canal Authority chairman and managing director Osama Rabie signed 🤝 a memorandum of understanding on the project.

WinGD says owners of more than 500 in-service vessels could upgrade their existing X-DF LNG dual-fuel engines 🏭 to bring them in line with the emissions and efficiency profiles of those units fitted to newbuildings today 🎯.

The company has signed a “frame agreement” with marine technology provider Panasia on the retrofit upgrade jobs 🏗.

The retrofit options will include adding exhaust recycling (iCER), which is designed to improve combustion stability and so fuel consumption 🔥, and variable compression ratio (VCR) technology to increase fuel efficiency 📈.
