Let’s dive in.
🎓 LNGKnowledge
Each LNG ship has the 👉 Gas Management System which keeps the cargo tank pressure within normal operation 📊 limits . It also includes safety function in case the tank pressure exceeds the normal operation limits 📈.
Two main tasks for the #GMS are to protect 🚧 the tanks against over pressurising and under pressurising.
1️⃣ Over pressurising
🎯 To protect the cargo tanks from being over pressurised due to natural #BOG, the gas has to be consumed by the Engines/Boilers, burned by the Gas Combustion Unit GCU , Reliquified , or vented to the Atmosphere 🚨 (* If fitted)
2️⃣ Under Pressurising
🎯 To protect the cargo tanks from being under pressurised, the Engines/Boilers will at a certain point switched to FO/DO consumption only , Shut down of Cargo pumps/Compressors 🔴 during Discharging operation.
Hereunder a general arrangement of a DFDE LNG ship four 4️⃣ cargo tanks. These equipment may differ for the other Engines Types.

US-based Excelerate Energy has commenced long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply to Bangladesh under a 15-year sales and purchase agreement (SPA) 📘.
The first cargo under the agreement, carrying around 138,000 cubic metres of LNG 💧, recently arrived at the Moheshkhali floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) .
With this shipment, Bangladesh has begun long-term LNG sourcing from outside the Middle East 🌎.
Petrobangla and Excelerate Energy signed the SPA on November 8, 2023 🤝. Under the deal, Excelerate will supply between 0.85 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) and 1.0 Mtpa of LNG 💧 over a 15-year period beginning in 2026.

Liquefied natural gas tankers set to load shipments in Qatar or the United Arab Emirates appear to be temporarily abandoning those plans ❌, as most shipowners and traders avoid the Strait of Hormuz.
At least 13 empty LNG tankers that were on the eastern side of the chokepoint have diverted away 🚫. LNG vessels and other ships stopped crossing the waterway over the weekend following the initial strikes by the US on Iran 🚨.
Exports from Qatar, the world’s largest LNG supplier after the US, must go through Hormuz to reach customers in Asia and Europe. A month-long halt could see spot Asian LNG rise 130 per cent 📈 to $25 per million British thermal units

🌹 This is what LNG does to a rose.
In this video, I show the effect of LNG’s extreme cold on a rose — a simple but powerful demonstration of how LNG at –162°C instantly freezes and destroys materials on contact.
It’s a clear reminder of why strict safety procedures and training are critical when working around LNG.
